This class is intended for women at least 21 years of age, considering purchase of a firearm.
The classroom portion is dedicated to Safety and Fundamentals with handguns. This session will also be used to familiarize students with additional handgun models and general firearm and range safety. Although no live ammunition will be permitted in the classroom, students may bring a handgun that they own.
The Range portion is intended to develop handgun skills with instruction and to introduce scenario shooting. Instructors will provide scenarios that students must make decisions and use skills taught during the class to react and safely deliver shots on target.
Students will use club-owned 22 caliber pistols or may use a firearm of their own.
Additionally numerous firearm models and calibers will be available for students to fire on the range to provide some basis for those who wish to proceed with purchase of a firearm.
The intention of the class is to provide the experience to use a handgun safely and to gain enough experience to help the student make choices when purchasing a handgun.
The class is taught by experienced firearms instructors and Range Safety Officers.
There is no cost for the class but attendance will be limited to the first 20 participants to sign up.
There will be a waver to sign upon arrival.
